The 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention will be held from 8th to 10th January, 2023, for the very first time in India's cleanest and smartest city - Indore - in the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh (MP) state !! This 17th PBD in the 75th year of India's independence will also be the first in the state of MP !!
The theme of the 17th PBD is "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal" !!
Started in 2003, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated once in every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with India and reconnect them with their roots !! During the Convention, selected overseas Indians (Non-Resident Indians, Persons of Indian Origin, or an organisation established and run by them) are also honoured with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to recognise their contributions in various fields, both in India and abroad !! These awards are given by the President of India !!
SUNDAY, 08 JANUARY 2023:
Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas - Joint inauguration of Youth PBD by the Government of India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, and Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan !! Madhya Pradesh PBD is a unique opportunity for Pravasis from the State to reconnect with their roots !! There will also be a Special Address by the Guest of Honour, Ms. Zaneta Mascarenhas, Member of Parliament, Australia !!

Conferment of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards and Valedictory Address - at the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention by
Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India !! It'll also be President Murmu's first visit to Indore !!
