Gomatgiri is a sacred place for the devotees of the Jain religion (Digambar sect) ! Located at just a 5-minute drive away from the Indore airport, this small hillock is home to a 21 feet statue of Gomateshwar ! This statue is a replica of the Bahubali statue, which stands tall at Shravanabelagola ! It has a picturesque location atop the hillock overlooking the Indore airport's landing & take-off paths, and also a great place to see sunrise & sunset !
Another fascinating feature of Gomatgiri is that it comprises 24 marble temples, each of which is dedicated to 24 Tirthankaras of Jain religion ! This pious place is constructed on the hillock, which was donated to the Jain Samaj by the government of Madhya Pradesh in 1981 !
On Sundays, Gomatgiri temple's famous Daal-Baati is served in the 'Bhojnalaya' (Restaurant) ! There's a small shop too that serves tea, snacks, ice creams, etc. !
