Not only is this Ganesh temple highly revered, but also this is immensely famous for housing possibly the largest Ganesh idol in the world, measuring 25 feet (almost 8 metres) from crown to foot !!
What is also very interesting about this temple is that it was built in the year 1875 A. D. and the idol was made with soil collected from the seven sacred cities of India, mixed with a special powder of panch-ratna (five gems - diamond, emerald, pearls, ruby and sapphire), holy water from pilgrimage sites, bricks, limestone, jaggery, and fenugreek seeds !! Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron, and Brass constitute the metallic frame of this huge idol !!
