About Attraction

Marking the boundary or the gateway to the Malwa plateau, this historical monument is located at a spot 20 km away from Mhow on the Mhow-Mandaleshwar Road - beyond this lie the Nimar plains ! 'Jaam Darwaza' or 'Jaam Gate' is named after the village 'Jaam', and since it is the Gateway to Malwa Plateau, it was of strategic importance in the earlier times !

On the side of this big gate is the staircase leading to the top, where there is the viewing terrace ! The staircase is quite dark and has big/high steps ! The best season to visit here is definitely the Monsoons, when the whole landscape turns Green with dense forestation on the hills and plains below ! You see a magnificent panoramic view of the vast underlying Nimar plains from here ! It also turns very misty & foggy, and sometimes, even the clouds are hanging very low, crossing you ! However, it remains a great place until February or even early March, after which, it becomes quite hot !

It is an unspoilt place, with almost no habitation around and also no tourist places such as rest areas, restaurants, and even washrooms ! But you do find hawkers from nearby villages of tribals, selling the local produce such as Bhutta (Corn-on-the-cob), Imli (Tamarind), etc. ! On the way to this heritage spot, you'll also cross some of the testing tracks for Indian Army's battle-tanks, based in Mhow !

 "Nice Place!"

This is ultimate place for weekend. Views are very beautiful, full of natural greenery everywhere. The best time to visit this place is during sunrise. The Jam Gate which is located on a hill gives a peaceful vibe… We can easily reached by car or bike. Also you can climb stairs to visit the top on the gate. It’s a good experience..
