Vichar Mahakumbh encourages solution oriented deliberations on global warming and climate change, value based life, religion for human welfare and science and spirituality !! It looks at natural agriculture and rural small entrepreneurship, empowered women and revived water resources as key to sustainable, inclusive and balanced development !! However, this can be accomplished when humans live the right way, which is one of the key pursuits of the Vichar Mahakumbh !! This is the international conference on living the right way, which is the fundamental message of Simhasth !!
World is facing indomitable crises including those from poverty and inequality, gender inequality, unemployment, water and sanitation, and food that have put severe constraints on the global development agenda !! Prime Minister Modi has termed climate change and terrorism as the biggest challenges faced by the world !! Our pursuit for unrestrained economic growth at the cost of nature has turned disastrous !! We have ended up drawing more than the nature and the mother earth can ordain !! Poor people, women, small and marginal framers, herdsmen, fishermen and those dependent on climate are bearing the brunt of climate change and its clear impact on the livelihoods !! Change in the weather pattern, extreme climatic events, and diminishing water levels and land productivity etc. pose greatest threat to agriculture and food production as well as the farmers !! These extremes situations are threatening global food security and have forced the millions from rural areas to migrate to the cities creating a dangerous population footprint and making cities more unsustainable !! This trend can be reversed with going back to natural agriculture (without chemical inputs), which nourishes and rejuvenates the soil !! Many countries and communities in the world are increasingly moving towards organic farming !! A return to the culture, which provides food without violence and propitiates heavens through symbiotic relation among people, animal, nature and earth is a compelling call !!
Employment and jobs crisis and huge and unequal concentration of wealth and productive resources witnessed today is the culmination of undermining dignity in small occupations and systematic efforts to ruin cultural and traditional economies to benefit big corporate and economic powers that can be overcome only by reestablishing indigenous crafts, small and sustainable community based occupations !!
Each individual needs to be skilled to be able to contribute and be a part of inclusive development !! New approaches need to be employed to enable traditional and occupational skills get an enabling environment to compete in modern world !! That is possible only with integration of rural ethics and modern technology !! Besides, the world also needs to recognize the power of youth and support their efforts, enthusiasm and innovations !! India has taken lead in supporting new ventures through many programmes aimed at rural populations, small and medium entreprises, and youth, which should resonate across developing world for an economic transformation !! Encouraging rural entrepreneurship making the small and rural Industries engines of growth will address poverty, inclusiveness, and sustainable development in the manner, which no other development trajectory can !!
Sanitation and purity is a cultural and civilizational concept, and should not be construed only as waste disposal but has a larger sense brining in purity in all aspects of life food and agriculture, land, water and forest ecosystems, health care, industrial production, energy and home and hearths and above all purity of souls and mind !! In this context rivers are of particular concern !! They have been revered in all civilizations, communities and countries, that reverence must be re-established !! We cannot revive a river but river can revive lives, communities, countries and cultures !! Now it is the time to serve the rivers and other traditional water bodies, which have served us for decades and centuries !! People have succeeded in making many rivers pollution free, this must be followed suit !! India has vowed to make its rivers clean, uninterrupted and sacred !!
Vichar kumbh is an effort to discover the solutions to various national and global problems from the perspective of traditional values of life where participants from all over the world will exchange the views on different aspects, concerns and challenges of sustainable development !! The above mentioned conferences organized earlier have resulted in important recommendations which draw the framework of this international Vaicharik Kumbh !!
The exhibition at the Vichar Mahakumbh would be inaugurated by Mr. Amit Shah, National President, B. J. P., on May 11, 2016 whereas the main symposium would be inaugurated by Mr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak (chief), RSS, on May 12, 2016 !! The closing ceremony of this international ideological symposium of thinkers would be attended by hon'ble Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, who would deliver the keynote address !! Along with the PM, the other very important politician attending the conference would be the hon'ble President of Sri Lanka Mr. Maithripala Sirisena !!
